Title: The wave equation, asymptotic expansions, and blow-ups

Solutions of the wave equation (with very nice data) exhibit asymptotic expansions in several different regimes. I will discuss the asymptotic behavior of solutions of the wave equation in several singular settings, with a particular emphasis on how a tool from real algebraic geometry -- namely, blow-ups -- can be employed to simplify the statements and proofs of these expansions. I will not assume prior familiarity with the wave equation or blow-ups.
