Title: Algebraic K-theory and logarithmic forms

After giving a leisurely introduction to algebraic K-theory, I will explain how certain “logarithmic forms” naturally appear when one studies even very simple examples. This interaction has been embraced by both topologists and algebraic geometers, and time permitting I will say something about my own efforts to help unify these perspectives.
